Tonight saw the first of our Prayer & Fasting Gatherings for the year, where a larger than expected group met together at 6:00pm to break our individual fasts by sharing in a meal together.
After enjoying this time of fellowship and fine food we spent about an hour in prayer looking at the theme: The Way Forward. Thourghout this time we got a real sense that God is not done with us yet and there are even greater things in store for us as a congregation.
We were reminded of the fact that we need to keep God at the centre of everything that we do both individually and as a congregation. Also that by trusting wholeheartedly in God and believing that He is the God of the impossible we can accomplish immeasurably more than we ever imagined.
This year is going to be extremely exciting as well as challenging as we put aside our own doubts, fears and perceptions of what can and can’t be done and trust in Him fully… As the song by Passion says; there are greater things yet to come, greater things still to be done in this city – which is especially true of Christchurch!
