I know that I haven’t posted anything for the past couple of months which is bad, but as a family we have been pretty busy balancing life & ministry. In fact to be brutally honest in many ways I believe that we have been ‘doing it tough’… 

The pressures of ministry have caught up with Annette & I what with; Mission Planning, Setting the Yearly Budgets, Trying to get approval for additional staff so that we can build momentum in our ministry outreach, having our 5 Year Review, continual Family Store issues, Computer crashes, maintaining the day to day administrative responsibilities, Future Planning, Community Ministries continuing to expand, to name just a few.

All the while balancing home-life; children at school – two of which studying for NCEA, sports commitments which see three of us going in different directions on a Saturday as well as balancing the training, Christina & Emily also singing in respective choirs. I’m sure life was never supposed to be this busy.

Then to top it all off mum was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer and had major surgery to remove a tumour, Annette’s gran ‘Tui’ passed away or as we say in The Salvation Army was ‘Promoted to Glory’ which I’m sure most of you will agree has a much better ring to it. And the winter season is upon us and the bed in the morning is something that none of us really want to escape from. We’ve had a week disrupted by snow and fog also delayed flights in and out of Christchurch when we were due to travel. So far at least two of us have succumbed to headache’s, runny noses and barking coughs.

40 Days of Purpose - LogoBut through it all our faith continues to grow and mature – as a Church we have just completed the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign and although we haven’t necessarily seen the numerical growth, many hearts and minds have been impacted.

May God continue to work in and through us all to bring about His kingdom in this place. It is not by power, nor by strength, but by the Spirit of God that we go on…
