This week as we continue the sermon series looking at the Resurrection Appearances found in Luke 24, we turn our attention to the two disciples that were travelling along the road to Emmaus.
They were astonished when Jesus revealed Himself to them.
For He had Risen and had conquered the grave.
Sunday 26 April
This morning as we recognise ANZAC Day, we want to commemorate those that served and lost their lives in conflict around the world, while serving for the New Zealand Defense Forces.
Anthem of the Free is a fine march performed by the Wellington Citadel Band. Its composer (Sir Dean Goffin) was a Salvation Army Bandmaster before enlisting into the New Zealand armed forces during the 2nd World War. He became Bandmaster of the newly formed band of the 20th Infantry Battalion and later on the 4th Infantry Battalion. Whilst he was serving in the Middle East he composed this march initially under another name ‘Bel Hamid’
