Yesterday afternoon / evening the country was advised of new community cases of Covid-19 – therefore the Government has announced that from midnight Sunday (last night) until at least midnight Wednesday, Auckland will move to Level 3 and the rest of New Zealand moves to Level 2.
While this is worrying, it isn’t entirely unexpected. Unfortunately the coronavirus spreads easily, especially the new variants. So it is extremely important that we keep ourselves and everyone else safe.
What does Level 2 mean for the Wellington City Corps?
- Continue to use the Covid tracing app, or manually record everywhere you go and when.
- Continue with good hygiene, washing your hands, coughing or sneezing into your elbow, and cleaning surfaces.
- If you feel unwell, stay home.
- If you have cold, flu or Covid-19 symptoms call your doctor or contact Healthline (0800 611 116) and get advice about being tested.
- Wear a mask on public transport and anywhere else where social distancing isn’t possible.
In addition, the following Level 2 practices will be in place at the Wellington City Corps;
Those coming into the centre will need to maintain 2-metre social distancing from others – please be especially careful at doorways, giving way to others so that no one is in close contact with others.
Those not using the Covid Tracing App will need to sign in on arrival using either the sheets at the door or the visitors book.
The groups that usually happen over the next 3 days are relatively small and can continue as long as appropriate sign in occurs and social distancing protocols are observed.
As soon as there is any additional information we will let you know how that will affect groups beyond Wednesday night if we don’t return to Level 1 after that.
Stay safe out there as New Zealand moves to Level 2 and take care of each other.
