Discerning God's WillThe next instalment of ‘Discerning God’s Will’ is happening this coming Wednesday night (Wednesday 15th August); commencing @ 6:30pm with a shared meal before the study.

Using the “Knowing God” study guide written by Major Barbara Sampson for The Salvation Army this guide provides practical guidance on how to get to know God better.

Not only is Discerning God’s Will the basis of this Sunday’s Message it is also the theme of our monthly Life Group on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Throughout the year we are committed to studying and growing in our understanding of who God is and what His will is for our lives. And tonight we had a great turn out for the first of these studies looking at the theme “Learning to name God”.

In many ways how we identify with who God is affects the way in which we communicate with Him and the way that we perceive his guidance in our lives. And for many of us ‘we need to abandon certain images that are not helpful and embrace the kind of God that Jesus represented and about whom the Scriptures speak so consistently – a God of unfailing love, unending compassion and unfathomable grace.’

To ask “Who are you, God?” may be the most important question we ever consider.

And this question is extremely important to us today because the image we have of God determines the relationship we have with Him…

Therefore, for those that have a faith and even for those that don’t grab a copy of the Bible and discover for yourself who God is and what He is prepared to do to have a relationship with you! “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

(John 3:16 New International Version)
