PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF TIME!

At 6pm (NZ Time) we are hosting ‘Church Online’ as a live video event via our Wellington City Corps or Wellington Citadel Band Facebook pages – Featuring the Wellington Citadel Band and Wellington City Worship Team.

This week Capt. Annette will be concluding our “Doing Life Together” sermon series, in which we have been unpacking God’s Design for the Local Church, how we can go about doing life together in our community, and loving one another as Christ loved us.

We pray that as we do this in our setting (the local Corps) that people will drawn to God and will want to be ‘doing life together’ with us, as we endeavour to ‘bring life and hope to the Inner City of Wellington’ and beyond.

We will also be continuing looking at the Self Denial Appeal. This years theme Love Beyond is captured in the stories of transformation from eSwatini, Papua New Guinea, Myanmar and Greenland.

(See this previous post which provides a brief overview of what the Self Denial Appeal is, and how you can get involved).

The Self Denial Appeal runs for a total of six weeks concluding with an Altar Appeal on Sunday 23 August.

Today, Sunday 26 July is also Media Prayer Day. (See my previous post).

Hundreds of churches throughout the country will be taking a few moments during their Sunday service to pray for those working in New Zealand’s mass media.

We hope that you will be uplifted in your spirit and encouraged as you head into the coming week trusting that God goes with you, He is walking beside you, and He has also prepared the way for you.

May God bless you each 🙂

Media Prayer Day 2020 is coming up on Sunday 26 July – This is a chance to join more than 700 churches, of all Christian denominations, who are uniting in prayer for those who make up New Zealand’s media.

Today’s media wields extraordinary power in shaping the ideas and values of our culture. In New Zealand, this power to influence is held by a relatively small number of people.
Yet, how often do we pray for these men and women?

We encourage you to pray for everyone who works in NZ’s media: presenters, writers, editors, directors, journalists, designers, actors, producers, industry executives and the multitude of other people who work within NZ’s wider media network.

The group behind Media Prayer Day would love you to ‘like’ their facebook page and share feedback, images, videos and watch interviews online. NB: Media Prayer Day is not about promoting a particular organisation, it’s purely about asking for prayer.

We’ll be spending some time during our Sunday Service on 26 July focusing on this call to prayer 🙂

LogoThe months seem to roll in on each other at a phenomenal rate and August is literally just around the corner – which brings with it Media Prayer Day. On Sunday 10 August hundreds of churches of all denominations throughout New Zealand will unite in prayer for the people who make up New Zealand’s mass media.

Each year we set aside time in the Sunday morning meeting to pray for:

  • Christians who work within NZ’s media – Pray for those who are well known and those behind the scenes.
  • People of influence within NZ’s media – Christian or not – presenters, writers, editors, directors, journalists, designers, actors, producers and industry executives.

Prayer is the rope that pulls God and man together. But, it doesn’t pull God down to us: It pulls us up to Him.
